Development

The development of a front-end module is characterised by the necessity of coordinating numerous development partners. Usually, up to ten different sub-suppliers, a large number of specialist departments at the OEM as well as tool manufacturers and test service providers have to be managed in a compact organisational form by the partner responsible for the module.

The heart of a front-end module, the assembly carrier, has to guarantee the perfect jointing of all components using as few assembly operations as possible. A good technical, optical and economic final outcome depends on quality, material rigidity, tolerance accuracy and a comprehensive array of moulded-on fasteners.
